People used to criticize me for having my mom do a lot of calling around campus when I was an undergrad, but I had her do it because I knew if I tried they'd just give me the runaround and avoid helping me. When I think back to those moments of being frustrated because the offices didn't want to help students, it makes me realize how important it is to have this kind of degree program. I hope when I finish, students will feel comfortable enough with me to ask for help.
