I was watching the movie last night and thought it was pretty good although it had its flaws. My question is why exactly did Michiko kill herself? She asked her mom whether she would chose her mother's happiness or the happiness of the man she loves. I read a review at Japan Times [http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/ff20061103a3.html] about how Michiko did the ultimate sacrifice. That's where I'm lost >_<. DId she kill herself so that Shinji wouldn't have had an affair with her? Did she do it for her mom? Cause she(her mom) seemed happy to have her and what she would end up becoming as a grown-up. I'm so lost ;_;... What are your thoughts?
